GOVERNANCE

ICOM considers governance very key and therefore established a governance structure in order to achieve its objectives and ensure that it operates in a transparent and accountable manner. This comprised the Board of trustees, management, academic and support staff placed in a hierarchical order with the Board of trustees being the highest decision-making body. The Board of Trustees was established taking into consideration the NCTVA Act of 2002. Hence, the composition of the Board of trustees is as follows:

  1. Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and Founder
  2. The Principal of the college
  3. The Registrar of the college
  4. A Representative of the Principals from Senior Secondary Schools where the college is located.
  5. A Representative of head of an institution of learning [education program] where the college is located.
  6. A Representative from the Ministry of Education – Tertiary Education Commission
  7. A Representation of the Local Authority of the area where the Institute is located

The Managing Director/Proprietor appoints the Board of Trustees and serves as the Chairman, the Principal serve as secretary and also supervises the other staff in the discharge of their duties and reports to the Board of trustees. The Board of trustees serve as the governing body and provides guidance in the preparation and approval of the institution’s plans and budgets.
