Introduction Department Of Nutrition and Dietetics
The program continues to attract students from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds, as they recognize the essential role nutrition and dietetics play in promoting health and preventing disease. The department provides a platform for students to explore dietary practices, understand the relationship between nutrition and health, and develop culturally appropriate strategies to improve individual and community well-being.
About The Program
The Nutrition and Dietetics Department, under the Faculty of Health Sciences, was established with two primary goals: first, to develop students’ scientific, ethical, and practical competencies essential for nutrition practice; and second, to prepare them for effective professional and technical roles in clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, and food service management. There is no doubt that ethics, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice are fundamental components in improving nutritional outcomes and enhancing quality of life.
As a pioneering private university in the country, ICOM has consistently been committed to equipping its students with these essential qualities in response to the broader needs of society. The Nutrition and Dietetics Department strongly believes that value-based and science-driven education fosters excellence in professional leadership, and ultimately contributes to national development through improved nutrition, disease prevention, and sustainable health practices.
