Introduction Department Of Public Health

The program continues to attract students from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds, as they recognize the critical role public health plays in improving community well-being. The department provides a platform for students to examine health trends, understand population-based challenges, and develop culturally responsive approaches to disease prevention and health promotion.

About The Program

The Public Health Department, under the Faculty of Health Sciences, was established with two primary goals: first, to develop students’ analytical, ethical, and leadership capacities essential for public health practice; and second, to prepare them for effective professional and technical roles in addressing local and global health challenges. There is no doubt that ethics, equity, critical thinking, and innovation are fundamental components in promoting health, preventing disease, and strengthening healthcare systems.

As a pioneering private university in the country, ICOM has consistently been committed to equipping its students with these essential qualities in response to the broader needs of society. The Public Health Department strongly believes that value-based and community-oriented education fosters excellence in public health leadership, and ultimately contributes to national development through improved health outcomes and sustainable interventions.
